Catch of the month

With perfect conditions prevailing at the moment, here is the catch of the month.

ITB Berlin

This year, marks our return to ITB after a three-year hiatus and, we were delighted to reconnect with our partners and experience the unique atmosphere that ITB had to offer. Exhibitors, visitors, and buyers alike were pleased with the interest and excitement surrounding the event.

We extend our gratitude to all of our partners for their unwavering support over the past three years, and particularly in 2022 during the period of post-COVID recovery. This year has been largely positive, and we appreciate the significant role that our partners have played in contributing to our success.

We are eagerly anticipating the future with a sense of confidence, as we firmly believe that our island has an abundance of unique experiences to offer. From immersing oneself in the local culture and richness of life, to enjoying the beauty of our sandy beaches, exploring nature and embarking on adventurous activities.

Celebrating the 55th Independence Anniversary

On the 12th of March, we celebrated the 55th Independence anniversary of Mauritius with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit.

The event was marked by the singing of the national anthem.

The celebration concluded with a grand feast featuring an array of delicious Mauritian delicacies. The team savored the delicious food while exchanging stories and reminiscing about the country’s history and progress over the past 55 years.

It was a joyous and memorable occasion, filled with pride and patriotism for our beloved country.

23rd of March 2023

From Paris to Mauritius

On the 23rd of March, we warmly welcomed our French partner’s incentive group consisting of 40 pax with special arrangements that included a live sega performance at the airport.

The group enjoyed their stay at Beachcomber Mauricia until the 27th of March, during which they partook in a splendid day trip organized at Ile des Deux Cocos, surrounded by the picturesque turquoise blue waters of Blue Bay.

From Switzerland to Mauritius

As in previous years, we successfully managed the Swiss partner’s group series.

This year, our signature excursion, “Historical Quest from Mahebourg,” was a memorable highlight that each member cherished, along with other pre-booked excursions and a breakfast at Jardin de Beau Vallon upon arrival.

Their stay was split between Beachcomber Canonniers and Beachcomber Shandrani, which contributed to making their holiday a truly enjoyable experience.

30th March 2023

Familiarization Trip

On the 30th of March, we had the pleasure of welcoming 13 French travel agents who were promoting Mauritius for a familiarization trip in collaboration with the French Tourism Office.

Our dedicated airport team warmly greeted them before embarking on a journey to discover the beautiful south of the island, visiting different hotels and experiencing unique stays.

The following day, a special hiking excursion up Le Morne Mountain, a UNESCO World Heritage site, was organized.

The group was surprised with a warm welcome by sega singers and dancers, followed by a delicious Creole beach lunch at the mountain’s foot.

After a good night’s rest, they set out on a speedboat to swim with dolphins in Flic en Flac, which was a truly unforgettable experience.

Our Managing Director hosted a lunch at Le Poivrier Restaurant, accompanied by the Director of Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority.

To make their last day even more memorable, we organized a full-day catamaran trip to Ile aux Cerfs, where they could relax on a secluded white sandy beach.

We are delighted that the Fam Trip had unforgettable memories of our island, and we hope to welcome them back soon!

Historical Quest from Mahebourg

Embark on a journey to immerse yourself in the rich history and culture of Mauritius Island. Begin your exploration by visiting the old town of Mahebourg, the first port of the island, and the location of the National History Museum (naval museum). Here, you can learn about the island’s colonization, the arrival of immigrants, and the battles that shaped its history.

Next, head over to Biscuiterie Rault/ Manioc Factory, where you can observe the different sustainable production processes of cassava, a locally grown plant, and sample the end product. Before reaching the local market, take a moment to capture the beauty of the old Cavendish bridge in a photo stop.

At the local market, experience the vibrant and diverse culture of Mauritius as you browse through the array of local products and meet locals from different ethnic backgrounds. Afterward, savor the warm hospitality of a local family as you indulge in a succulent Mauritian lunch in the quaint village of Grand Port.

Take some time to visit a local craft-making workshop, which is run by women of the village, before heading to Ile aux Aigrettes. This coralline limestone island, declared a nature reserve in 1965, is home to the last remnants of dry coastal forest, unique flora and fauna, and giant tortoises. It’s the perfect place to observe the Ornate Day Gecko and other fascinating wildlife in a safe and protected environment.
